Apps every traveler should have

For those that already know us or not, we are a couple that loves to travel around the world and we’ve learned a few things along the way. Now we are ready to share them with you.

We are coming from a 30 days trip through Canada to the United States mixing work and tourism at the same time

Visiting a new place which you know nothing about can be a little frightening but thanks to the world we live in today, we have apps to save us! Keep reading to check on the list

In case you get curious to know more about us, check our post to the blog where we talk about our history.

1 – Google Maps

We could not start with any other app but this one, we traveled a lot by car and the road was very tricky sometimes, using Google Maps was fundamental to not get lost. Among other GPS apps, this has become our favorite because it is simple to use.

The app gave us comfort to enjoy the journey and amuse ourselves with the view of Lake Louise, one of our first stops.

2 – Tripadvisor

Soon we found ourselves in front of a bunch of restaurants with no idea where to go. Trip Advisor was perfect for this occasion because you can actually see pictures and complete restaurant reviews, check what’s best in town and what fits in our pockets as well.

3 – Expedia

Of course, we needed a place to stay and Expedia allowed us to check every hotel around us and what would be the best choice for us.

The app is also filled with reviews and pictures of all hotels, along with room categories and prices.

4 – Uber

Even if you know this app or not, Uber is like a cab but way better, you can ask for a car right away to take you places, we love it and used a few times during our trip.

What is great about Uber is that there are so many options, if you are in a big family for example you can request for an Uber Van, or if you are short on money there is the “pool” option in which you share the trip and cost with someone who’s going in the same direction as you.

Maybe you can even get lucky like us and get a TESLA as uber! Unbelievable:

5 – RentCars

Eventually, we needed a car to get from Mountain View to Las Vegas, that’s why we opted to rent a car.

Searching for it on the regular internet could have been exhausting but we found this app full of options and prices the way we needed!

We chose our car and went on a trip.

6 – The Weather Network

Even though we knew it was cold, we needed an App that would keep us updated about possible snow storms and temperature drops. This one was definitely our best choice and helped us a lot.

7 – Meetup

Since our trip was not only about tourism, but work as well, this app helped us to check what events were happening around us.

The app sends you notifications on workshops and anything in your interest, this way we managed to attend the “Founders Institute” gathering in Vancouver, a major Startup event we could have missed if it wasn’t for this app.

8 – Easy Finance

This one has a great story because actually, we found it a little difficult to keep track of our expenses during this trip, but no App was easy enough to use. We just wanted something intuitive where we could check how much money was coming in and out.

That is why we decided to develop Easy Finance, the easiest App to track your money and it is already available on App Store.

9 – Easy Calorie

This app already existed during our trip and it was great to have this in hand because we all know things can get a little crazy during a long period of time away from home.

We didn’t want to eat too much or gain weight so we used “Easy Calorie” inserir aqui link pro app, as a calorie counting app to make sure we kept a healthy diet and still enjoyed our trip.

The app was also made by us, Ace Digital Labs, our lives got so much easier since we developed it!

10 – Groupon

Groupon is an amazing app that offers discounts in stores, restaurants, events, and such. It helped us a lot to save money and enjoy the city as best as we could. This app is very strong in Canada and the USA.

If you haven’t heard about it yet, definitely should give it a try.

11 – TransferWise

This app definitely helped us a lot! It allows you to send and receive money from abroad, converted, and fast. Whenever we needed to receive money from other countries or send it to our families, this was the quickest way to it and for sure it will help you too.
